The Ten Commandments of God
Christians today are largely missing out and ignoring two of God's most important commandments. They treat the ten commandments like a smorgasbord. Sort of like a pick and choose what you want. The first commandment which deals with who God is, and the fourth commandment (third if your a good Catholic) in what day we are to rest from our works as God did. There is plenty of information on this site about who God is and who He is not (a trinity). When it comes to the Sabbath, people will often say, Jesus is my Sabbath. This is as far from Biblical as the trinity doctrine is. As you scroll further down this page, you will discover that the Sabbath was not a Mount Sinai revealing or a "Jewish" thing. It was an outline for the moral conduct of mankind, given in the Garden of Eden. God blessed, rested and sanctified the seventh day and he even "hallowed it." These two commandments are the most ignored and openly sinned against by Christians.

Genesis 2:2-3 - "And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. v3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made."
Exodus 20:11 - For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."

It doesn't state that Adam did this, or Moses did this, but God did this. He set the example. And he assigned Adam and Even to manage the Garden of Eden and dress it. But even they rested on the seventh day. In Mark 2:27, it states, "And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath." This was a gift from God to mankind. It has been discovered that even some animals like the Beaver even rest from their labors on the seventh day. Jesus can't be your Sabbath as some will say as an excuse, because the Sabbath isn't a person. God set apart a time for you and for you to spend with Him. The Sabbath to who the real Creator is, the source of life. If you say Jesus is your Sabbath, you are refusing a gift from God. Even Jesus kept the Sabbath in his time on earth. "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." — Matthew 5:17. Jesus came and did the law to it's fullness. He did not do away with it. Another might say that the Sabbath was nailed to the cross. No, that was the ceremonial law; 613 laws given by Moses to His people (at that time) on parchment paper, further details given to the children of Israel. Those additional laws (613) were written and carried on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant. They were nailed to the cross. Paper can be nailed to timber. But Topaz stone, as in the ten commandments cannot be nailed to anything. They were written by the finger of God. These were carried inside the Ark of the Covenant because they were permanent. And we are not talking about feast keeping here. That was given at that time to "O Israel."
Exodus 20
1) I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me. (v2-3)
2) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for a I the Lord they God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. (v4-6)
3) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (v7)
4) REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all they work. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord they God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou., nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it. (v8-11)
5) HONOUR thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. (v12)
6) Thou shalt not kill. (v13)
7) Thou shalt not commit adultery. (v14)
8) Thou shalt not steal. (v15)
9) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor. (v16)
10) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s. (v17)
Most Christians are falsely led and taught to be “New Testament Christians.” They treat the ten Commandments of God as a smorgasbord. They pick and choose which ones they will follow. It’s all about convenience and a total lack of obedience. If we love God, we will do his Commandments and follow his instruction. But do we even know God? Most have been led to follow a false version of Him which breaks the first Commandment. This Commandment along with the fourth Commandment are the two that are the most ignored and openly sinned against by Christians.
We are not talking about the Mosiac law that Moses wrote on parchment paper as further details given to the children of Israel. Those 613 laws were written and carried on the outside of the Ark of the Covenant. They were nailed to the cross. Paper can be nailed to timber. But Topaz stone, as in the Ten Commandments cannot be nailed to anything. These were carried INSIDE the Ark of the Covenant because they were permanent. And we are not talking about feast keeping here either. That was given at that time to “O Israel.”
Think about this.... even a dead person can keep almost all of the commandments. Eight of them instruct us “don’t do this….” A dead person can easily not do anything. Even a dead person cannot break the first commandment that most Christians are breaking. But it takes a living, breathing soul of a person with a mind to “Remember” the fourth commandment as it is stated. Why did God say “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy?” Because he knew we would forget. And history has changed His day to Sunday which is not only a sin, but an abomination to Him. The other commandment that requires a living person with a thinking brain that can take action is the fifth commandment which instructs us to "honor" our Father and Mother.
A common argument might be that the ten commandments were given at Mt. Sinai to Moses only and they were for “those people.”
Another person might say in defense of laziness and disobedience, Jesus said in John 13:34-35 — "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. v35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” This was an identifier for his disciples, his workers of his message.
Another might bring up two commandments that Jesus spoke about in Matthew 22:37-40 and repeated in Mark 12:29-31. A Pharisee lawyer asked Jesus, “Master, which is the great commandment in the law?” – Matthew 22:36
“And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: v30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. v31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” — Mark 12:29-31
These were summaries for the ten Commandments. The first one covers the first four commandments of God that deal with our vertical relationship between Him and us. The second one mentioned deals with our horizontal relationship between man and man here on earth. These don’t do away with the ten. They are just summaries of the ten.
Now, let’s take a look at the Mount Sinai event:
Exodus 19:16-20 — “And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled. v17 And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount. v18 And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly. v19 And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice. v20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.”
The formal receiving of the Ten Commandments is one of the most well-known events of Bible History. But did The Ten Commandments originate at Mount Sinai? No, they did not. All were recognized long before.
The First Commandment
“I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.” (v2-3)
Adam And Eve were commanded by God to obey Him. He made plain to them right in the Garden of Eden that He was their God, their Creator. But they chose to believe and obey Satan. And Satan is yet "the god of this world" (2 Corinthians 4:3-4). For their violation of The First Commandment, among other things, they were cast out.

Long before Sinai, violating the First Commandment was sin: “And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time, even Terah, the father of Abraham, and the father of Nachor: and they served other gods.” — Joshua 24:2
The first commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 4:10, Matthew 6:24, Matthew 22:37-38, Luke 4:8, Revelation 14:7.
The Second Commandment
“Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for a I the Lord they God am a jealous God visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” (v4-6)
Long before Sinai, God told Jacob to get rid of the idols, so Jacob collected them and buried them under a tree: “And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. v2Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: v3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. v4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem.” — Genesis 35:1-4
The second commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Acts 15:20, Acts 17:16, 29, 1 Corinthians 5:10-11, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 1 Corinthians 10:7,14, 19, 1 Corinthians 12:2, 2 Corinthians 6:16, Galatians 5:20, Ephesians 5:5, Colossians 3:5, 1 Thessalonians 1:9, 1 Peter 4:3, 1 John 5:21, Revelation 2:14, Revelation 9:20, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15.
The Third Commandment
“Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” (v7)
Long before Sinai, profaning The Name of God was sin:
“v21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD. v27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) — Leviticus 18:21, 27
The third commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 5:33-34, 1 Timothy 6:1, James 2:7.
The Fourth Commandment
“REMEMBER the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it.” (v8-11)
The Sabbath originated at the Genesis Creation carried out in six days and then God rested from His work. This was long before Sinai:
“And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. v3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.” — Genesis 2:2-3
Before the formal giving of The Ten Commandments, the people were commanded to observe the Sabbath by not gathering Manna:
" Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.." — Exodus 16:26
Think of the Sabbath as a special date with God every week. For those that might shrug it off and even have an excuse for Sunday or say that any day works for them, if you are a male, does your wife get worked up if you were to forget her birthday? How much more magnificent is God then in this case?

Another pertinent detail in this is not to have someone work for you on your behalf on this special day. Take a look at Deuteronomy 5:14 - "But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou , nor they son, nor they daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass (donkey), nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy man servant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou."

As you will see in the above, even servants or Gentiles (stranger) were not to be working within their gates, those in employment, those that served them including the animals.
A typical Sunday observer will come home from church, turn on the tv, watch sports, mow the lawn, crack open a beer. Quite a contrast to one that keeps the true Sabbath day. Ever since Pope Francis came into the papacy, here had been pushing for people to abstain from consuming one day of the week, to rest, as a means to stop climate change. The climate change narrative is a false one. However, at face value, taking a day off from consumption of the world, giving the earth a rest day as well in a manner of speaking, however are we to do it on the true Sabbath day, or the false sabbath (Sunday) designed to honor and worship the sun-god?

Isaiah 58:13 - "If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shall honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: v14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."
The fourth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 12:8, 12, Matthew 24:20, Mark 1:21, Mark 2:27-28, Mark 6:2, Luke 4:16,31, Luke 6:5, Luke 23:56, Acts 13:14, 42, 44, Acts 15:21, Acts 16:13, Acts 17:1-2, Acts 18:4, Hebrews 4:4, 9-10.

The Fifth Commandment
"Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee." (v12)
Long before Sinai, Noah's son sinned by dishonoring his parent: “And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. v25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.” — Genesis 9:24-25
The fifth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 15:4, Matthew 19:19, Mark 7:10, Mark 10:19, Luke 18:20, Romans 1:30, Ephesians 6:1-2, Colossians 3:20, 2 Timothy 3:2.
The Sixth Commandment
“Thou shalt not kill.” (v13)

The first murder of course occurred all the way back in the Garden of Eden. God is speaking here: "And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground. v11 And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand; ." — Genesis 4:10-11
The sixth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 5:21-22, Matthew 19:18, Mark 7:21, Mark 10:11-12, 19, Luke 16:18, Luke 18:20, Romans 1:29, Romans 13:9, Galatians 5:21, 1 Timothy 1:9, James 2:11, 1 Peter 4:15, 1 John 3:15, Revelation 9:21, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15.

The Seventh Commandment
"Thou shall not commit adultery." (v14)
Long before Sinai, Joseph refused to sin by committing adultery with Potiphar's wife:
“And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. v8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; v9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” — Genesis 39:7-9
The seventh commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 5:27-28, Matthew 19:18, Mark 7:21, Mark 10:11-12, 19, Luke 16:18, Luke 18:20, Acts 21:25, Romans 1:29, Romans 2:22, Romans 7:3, Romans 13:9, 1 Corinthians 5:11, 1 Corinthians 6:9, 18, 1 Corinthians 10:8, Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:3, Hebrews 13:4, James 2:11, 2 Peter 2:14, Jude 1:7, Revelation 2:14, Revelation 2:21-22, Revelation 9:21.

The Eighth Commandment
"Thou shall not steal." (v15)
The first recorded theft, and the penalty for that sin, occurred right in the Garden of Eden:
"….Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?” — Genesis 3:11
The eighth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 19:18,
Mark 7:22, Mark 10:19, Luke 18:20, Romans 2:21, Romans 13:9, 1 Corinthians 5:10-11,
1 Corinthians 6:10, Ephesians 4:28, 1 Peter 4:15, Revelation 9:21.
The Ninth Commandment
"Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." (v16)
The ultimate liar, Satan, was also right in the Garden of Eden: “And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: v3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. v4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:” — Genesis 3:2-4
"Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” — John 8:44
The ninth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Matthew 15:19, Matthew 19:18, Mark 10:19, Luke 18:20, John 8:44, Acts 5:3-4, Romans 1:29, Romans 13:9, Ephesians 4:25, Colossians 3:9, 1 Timothy 4:2, 2 Timothy 3:3, Revelation 21:8, Revelation 22:15.
The Tenth Commandment
"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor any thing that is thy neighbor’s." (v17)
Coveting was a sin that began very early, right in the Garden of Eden:
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.." — Genesis 3:6
The tenth commandment in the New Testament can be found in: Mark 7:22, Luke 12:15, Acts 20:33, Romans 1:29, Romans 7:7, Romans 13:9, 1 Corinthians 5:10-11, 1 Corinthians 6:10, Galatians 5:19, Ephesians 5:3, 5, 1 Timothy 6:10, 2 Timothy 3:2, 2 Peter 2:14, Hebrews 13:5.
Further proof that the ten Commandments are in full effect today is the way John wrote and recorded Jesus speaking about them.
John 14:15 - If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:21 - He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:10 - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1 John 2:3 - And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
1 John 2:4 - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1 John 3:22 - And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1 John 3:24 - And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
1 John 5:2 - By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1 John 5:3 - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
2 John 1:6 - And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Here in the book of Revelation, we can see that Satan is looking to attack those that are keeping God’s law out of obedience. Thia is going to be an end-time issue as the close of earth's time as we know it draws closer and closer to an end.
Revelation 12:17 - And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
And a reward is promised to those that hold fast and true to the word and promise:
Revelation 14:12 - Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 22:14 - Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Anyone that teaches otherwise against this message is in heresy and will see the lake of fire for bearing their false witness, especially if they happen to be a clergy member.
